Dogs give us unconditional love, dedication, loyalty, compassion and service. They save lives every day on dangerous search and rescue missions and in military conflicts. In Vietnam alone, it’s estimated they prevented up to 10,000 human casualties. Specially trained Canine Companions offer independence to the disabled and have become lifelines to the critically ill.
Perhaps every dog has something extraordinary to offer – but sadly, many are never given the chance. Millions are euthanised each year... and millions more are waiting patiently in overcrowded shelters to be rescued by someone looking for a new, best friend.
